5th Conference against LGTBIQ+-phobia “Javier Abil Orpegui”

Fifth edition of the conference that CLGS, the LGTBIQ+ collective of La Safor, dedicates to the memory of Javier Abil Orpegui, a resident of Gandia's Grau district murdered in 2014 in a homophobic hate crime. The event is a round-table debate and awareness session against LGTBIQ+-phobia, hosted and presented by the journalist, writer and trans and queer activist Darío Gael. Speakers include lawyer and mediator Mónica Oltra; historian and cultural communicator Vicent Lloret; Lara Carbó, head of Equality at the Centre de Desenvolupament Rural (CDR) la Safor; José Miguel Garre, winner of Mr Gay Comunitat Valenciana 2026; and Mireia Feixas and Mar Ónega, members of Infermeres Feministes. Organised by CLGS with the support of Igualtat Gandia, Gandia City Council and the Diània LGTBIQ+ association.
