Guided tour of the Castillo de Bairén
Guided tour of the Castillo de Bairén led by the archaeologist Joan Negre, part of Gandia Town Council's Any Jaume I programme. The visit focuses on the castle's links with King James I, who is already documented granting land within the castle's district in 1240. The fortress, also known as the castle of Sant Joan, was the most important stronghold in the defensive system of the Safor.
