Recommended restaurant: Casa Concha

On Gandia beach, some places have been doing things well for decades, and Casa Concha is one of them: a family-run restaurant open since 1985, specialising in rice dishes and the traditional Valencian mid-morning meal.

What began as a summer business founded by Ramón and Concha has become a benchmark for traditional cooking on Gandia beach. Today, the family’s second generation, with Borja García leading the kitchen, keeps alive a formula they sum up perfectly themselves: a restaurant with the soul of a bar.

Location, opening hours and contact details

Its daytime opening hours and location in the heart of the beach district make it a very convenient place for lunch or an esmorzaret after a morning by the sea or out for a walk.

Rice dishes and esmorzaret: the house specialities

  • Rice dishes: these are at the heart of the menu, with a wide selection ranging from classic seafood recipes to fideuà de Gandia, always based on traditional home cooking.
  • The Valencian mid-morning meal: true to the soul of a bar, Casa Concha takes as much care over l’esmorçar as it does over its rice dishes, preserving a fundamental part of Valencian food culture.
  • Fresh, local produce: its traditional Mediterranean cooking relies on locally sourced produce, including vegetables from the family garden.

The restaurant has two dining rooms with space for around 80 people and a terrace open all year round, so it works equally well for a Sunday family meal or an informal weekday esmorzaret.

Four decades of recognised experience

Casa Concha’s consistency has not gone unnoticed: Gandia City Council has recognised its nearly four decades in the city’s tourism sector, and the restaurant is listed in the Wikipaella guide, which distinguishes establishments committed to Valencian rice traditions. It also regularly takes part in local food events such as the Ruta del Putxero and the food month devoted to the striped Gandia aubergine.

Why is it one of our recommended restaurants?

  • Cooking with history: almost 40 years of experience preparing rice dishes on Gandia beach, now in the hands of the family’s second generation.
  • Genuine specialisation: traditional, home-style rice dishes and fideuàs made with fresh, locally sourced produce.
  • Unpretentious atmosphere: the friendly feel of a lifelong neighbourhood bar with the dining experience of a good restaurant, indoors or on the terrace.
  • An authentic Valencian esmorzaret: a very local experience that few visitors know about and that Casa Concha takes particular care to preserve.

If you are looking for a well-made rice dish by the sea or want to discover the ritual of the esmorzaret, Casa Concha is a reliable choice. It is advisable to book by calling +34 962 84 10 60, especially at weekends and during the high season.
