RunCáncer Gandia 2026: charity run and walk against cancer

On Sunday 25 October 2026, at 11:00, the Plaça del Prado in Gandia is the starting point for Gandia Contra el Cáncer, the local leg of the RunCáncer Valencia circuit: a 5-kilometre run and a non-competitive walk, with every race number sold 100% for charity.

RunCáncer is the circuit of runs and walks that the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer en Valencia (the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Valencia) takes to around a hundred towns in the province every year. In 2026 it reaches its 12th edition, and all proceeds from race numbers go to cancer research projects: the circuit has already raised more than 3 million euros, which have funded over 45 projects.

Run or walk: two ways to take part

Both options share the same distance, time and starting point: 11:00 in the Plaça del Prado, right in the town centre. Each participant sets their own pace:

  • 5 km run: for those who prefer to run the distance.
  • 5 km walk: non-competitive, to be completed on foot at walking pace.

One detail worth remembering: in the early hours of 25 October, Spain switches to winter time and the clocks go back one hour.

Registration and race number price

  • €5 per race number, for both the run and the walk. Online registration adds a small platform handling fee.
  • Online: on the official registration page, until Thursday 22 October at 23:59. The rules and the authorisation form for under-18s can also be downloaded there.
  • On the day: at the start area, up to 30 minutes before the start, for both the run and the walk.
  • Official T-shirt of the 12th edition: optional, €7, with limited stock and sizes.

Race numbers bought online are collected on the Sunday itself at the start area, also up to 30 minutes before the start. Someone else can collect yours by showing a copy or a photo of your ID document. The organisers ask participants to buy in advance wherever possible, to keep the morning running smoothly.

A Sunday morning in the Centre Històric

The Plaça del Prado is in the centre of Gandia and has an underground car park beneath the square itself. Once the event is over, there is time to extend the outing on foot through the Centre Històric: the Ducal Palace of the Borgias and the Collegiate Church of Santa María are a short stroll away, and the café terraces on the square are a good place to recover.

The full circuit calendar and the frequently asked questions are on runcancer.com (in Spanish). For any queries, the Association can be reached on its freephone number, +34 900 100 036.
