La Visit Gandia is a cultural tourist card that costs €13, brings together ten sites of history, art and nature and is valid for 72 hours. It is on sale at the Hotel Borgia reception desk.
From the palace of the Borgias to a cave holding the finest collection of Palaeolithic portable art in the world, Gandia has a heritage that goes far beyond the beach. The card is promoted by the Xarxa d’Espais Culturals de Gandia (XEC) together with the Ajuntament de Gandia, and covers the city’s main museums, monuments, cultural venues and natural sites.
One card, ten places to discover Gandia
Each site tells a different story about the city and its surroundings. These are the places you can visit with the card:
- Palau Ducal dels Borja: right in the Centre Històric and listed as a Bien de Interés Cultural since 1964, it is one of the most emblematic examples of Valencian civil architecture and the heart of the Borgia legacy.
- Insigne Col·legiata de Gandia (La Seu): a Gothic church from the 14th to 16th centuries promoted by the Borgias, raised to collegiate church by Pope Alexander VI in 1499 and to minor basilica in 2007.
- Museu Arqueològic de Gandia (MAGa): housed in the former Hospital de Sant Marc (13th century), it holds the largest prehistory collection in La Safor, from the Palaeolithic to the Neolithic.
- Museu de Santa Clara: one of the largest collections of religious art in the Valencian Community, with paintings, sculpture and silverwork from the 15th to the 18th centuries linked to the Borgia legacy.
- Museu Faller de Gandia: the Fallas are Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and here you can discover the craft of the falla artist, the mascletà and traditional dress in an interactive way.
- Parc Arqueològic Castell de Bairén: the most important Andalusi fortress in the area (10th to 12th centuries), with citadel, albacara and medina, and views over the huerta of La Safor and the Mediterranean.
- Cova del Parpalló: in the Parpalló-Borrell natural site, it holds the most important collection of Palaeolithic portable art in the world: more than 5,000 engraved and painted stone plaques.
- El Morabit de Marxuquera: a 17th-century building restored as an interpretation centre for rural life and the starting point for visiting the Cova de les Meravelles and its 20,000-year-old rock art.
- Torre dels Pares: a fortified 17th-century farmhouse surrounded by orange groves, listed as a Bien de Interés Cultural and the latest major piece of the Borgia legacy to be restored.
- Teatre del Raval: a multi-purpose cultural centre with performing arts, live music and festivals, where the card offers discounts on its programme.
How it works: 72 hours at your own pace
The card is valid for 72 hours to plan your route around the ten sites. It combines access to the sites open to visitors with discounts on the Teatre del Raval programme; it is worth checking the current opening hours and conditions before you start.
The official price reviewed is €13. As access conditions, opening hours and programmes may change, the XEC website is the reference for confirming the information before buying the card.
